Attendance:

Jeannette, Bruce, Barb, Don, C.Ray, Ern, Lorraine, Laura, Colleen, and Deirdre

Updates:

The SRHBTNA membership mailer – do we really want to do it ourselves?  Upon discussion of the associated costs, it was decided to have the City do the mailing.

The two eighth graders involved in the car/pedestrian accident while crossing 70th in the crosswalk are now back in school, although one is still in a wheelchair.  The Council held a meeting with schools involving a bunch of scenarios regarding walkways, etc.  However RHJH didn’t come.  There will be another meeting of the SRH Traffic Calming Committee.  Suggestions to the City included painting no passing in 25 mile zones, a sidewalk on 122nd from 70 – 75th, additional lighting, and higher visibility crosswalks. –

MOU Regarding Houghton Transfer Station Update

MISWAC finished fourth report which will to go to King County Council regarding mitigation.  There are now actually mitigation points in the MOU including lighting/sound wall/ better pedestrian path, right turn only after leaving the Transfer station.

Of the four plans for the TS, in one the County says they are not going to close it, the other three say to close it.  The County still wants to raise the roof even though it’s only going to be open for ten more years.  The question was raised - Is there a permit yet or has it expired?
