Everyone is invited to the next “Conversation with Council” this Saturday, February 21 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Kingsgate Library. The library is located at 12315 N.E. 143rd Street.
BREAKING NEWS: Kraken iceplex facility groundbreaking: spring 2026 with completion expected late summer 2027. The project’s cost is around $65 million and includes a restaurant and bar, sales facility, two rinks, and a 12K community center. Good news for SRHBT is the potential for us to use this facility for meetings and events.
SRHBT will bid farewell to the temporary Houghton Park and Play in coming months. Equipment, courts, and community garden will be relocated to nearby parks.
For more details on the Kraken and the future location of Park and Play attractions, come to the
March 10 SRHBT Neighborhood Meeting 7pm at Ben Franklin Elementary.
We’ll also see historic photos from Kirkland’s Heritage Society and learn of the dark days of WWII in our community, when Japanese neighbors were relocated to internment camps.
