Help! Tree Survey
Urban trees are important in ways that may surprise you. Kirkland City wants to hear from us, so please fill out this 14-question survey (only takes 5 to 8 mins). The full text from the city is included below.
Specifically, Q. 10 asks for your suggested actions. We would love for you to join us in proposing action for a "Tree Ambassador program" that can make it easy for us as residents to get free trees to plan, learn about the trees we see daily and their benefits, push information through neighborhood meetings and newsletters, and help solve issues with trees, including permits, fears of obstruction or fall-risk etc.
Feel free to craft your own reply, or use this text:
Answer to Q10:
A Tree Ambassador program as proposed by the SRHBT Neighborhood Association to improve access to trees, education, programs and more.
Neighborhood Clean Up
Neighbor Sue Contreras organized a very successful cleanup event on
Sun 24th May 2026
9:30am to Noon
at 70th Ave at Rose Hill Park
Our neighborhood business, Pagliacci, treated hardworking neighbors to free pizza after the event. Ace Hardware donated yard waste bags and advertises this event at their BBQ event the previous day. The City of Kirkland arranged for a street sweeper to join our efforts.
City Public Works Department Director, Julie Underwood joined the efforts.
Please reach out to Sue at (206)-602-0957 if you have any questions. Another similar drive will be organized again later this summer.
